UN Women Built Their New Campaign on Google Suggested Search Results

UN Women have just launched a new poster campaign, using genuine Google search suggestions to highlight the discrimination that is still practiced against women around the world. These results are generated based on the geographical location of the user and the most popular searches and content relating to that search, in the user’s area.

“For UN Women, the Google searches confirm the urgent need to continue making the case for women’s rights, empowerment and equality, a cause the organization is pursuing around the world. UN Women is heartened by the initial strong reaction to the ads and hopes they will spark constructive dialogues globally.” – UNWomen.org

I saw these images on Pinterest and my first reaction was to check out what Google had to say if I put it to the test.

This is what I got. My search results are under the posters.

Then, as an afterthought, I typed in then same phrases but using the word ‘men’ instead’.

I’m not sure where I’m going with this. I’m very tired of parroting the same thing over and over. IT’s 2013, FFS.

Can’t we all just be nice to each other?
